Waking up with dry mouth.

Post by mfignewton » Fri Jul 05, 2013 9:19 am

My doctor moved my pressure from 9 to 10 and now i seem to sleep a little better but wake up with my mouth very dry. This did not happen when the machine was set to 9. The humidifier is working it uses water every night but not sure if i should turn it up. My humidifier goes from 0-5 and right now i am set at 4. Also i wake up and my left ear is feeling clogged almost like sinus run off in the ear. Please let me know what you guys think.

Possible mouth breathing...this will cause an increased humidity need and dry mouth. You can try a chinstrap or tape your mouth closed. If this is uncomfortable you need to try a full face mask.

I use a full face mask and I have dry mouth. I use Biotene mouthwash which helps a little. The least expensive place to buy it is Costco.

The mouthwash helps for about five minutes. Try the Biotene gel for long action.

There is no escape from drymouth. Full face mask does not stop air going thru the mouth into the mask and drying the mouth.
I get dry mouth even when using a chinstrap.
I rinse my mouth with faucet water whenever I get up to pee (2 to 3 times a night).
Visit your dentist hygienist three times more often.
