Does anyone sleep on their back all night
Re: Does anyone sleep on their back all night
I've always been a side sleeper, left and/or right. Never was comfortable on my back or stomach. Sleep doc said something about better to sleep on left side... something to do with the heart getting more oxygen. When I started using my machine, I was glad that side sleeping wasn't another thing to train myself to do.

Re: Does anyone sleep on their back all night
I sleep all night - every night - on my back. I have slept on my back for many years (before cpap as well). Sleeping on my back is the only way I can sleep because of shoulder pain caused by Rheumatoid Arthritis. I don't move at all. My body seems to know that much movement will cause pain which will wake me. I am active during the day and have a good exercise program which helps in the management of my RA.
My AHI is almost always below 2.
I guess, with positional sleep apnea, I would have lots of events but, since I don't I conclude that I do not have positional sleep apnea.
I have been sleeping on my back - with my cpap - every night for 12 years now, maintain an excellent AHI and feel quite rested during the day, except for the fatigue that goes with RA.

Re: Does anyone sleep on their back all night
I now sleep on my back almost all night but awake with occasional back aches. A trip to the local fitness joint usually takes care of business and unkinks things but this didn't happen in the first 62 1/2 years of life. Go figure.
