Hi Folks,
THis is my first Summer on CPAP and my previously leak-free nasal pillows are suddenly leaking. The place where they touch my nose, and between my lip and my nose, gets sweaty when it is warm at night and the pillows seem to slip around more. Now if it was my forehead or my cheeks I would just pad it with something absorbant. But what do I do around my nares? Anyone have tips?
THANKS, as always!
AII
P.S. I sleep with a fan on, don't have AC in the bedroom (have never needed it). The rest of me is comfortable, just my nose against the plastic...

Same problem for me too - even with the Aura (Headrest).
I sometimes use baby wipes (Avent newborn): they clear the sweat, are perfumeless, are slightly cooling, and when used on upper lip, nostrils and nasal pillows even seem to create a slightly sticky layer that helps the seal.
I figure anything mild enough for a newborn's skin should be safe enough for my nasal pillows - it's been OK so far (about 8 months of using them daily, to clean the pillows in the morning.
Haven't figured out a way to keep from sweating though. No A/C here either...

Unlike the Aura, the Swift is not constructed to accept the "pantyhose" strap - unless you can figure a way to do it.
The strap would certainly hold the Swift more secure to your nose in spite of a little sweat.
Ozij, do you use the strap to help keep the Aura in place?
On the Swift, I would try to place a thin strip of adhesive (maybe even a Polygrip strip would work), on the "slide". Or, you might try the foam-type two-sided tape that you hang pictures with. Then, once the adhesive is in place, put a 1" strap of pantyhose over the strip and then tie the strap behind your head (ala RG style). Be sure not to obstruct the vents. If you take the slide off before you wash your pillows, it should last a week or so.
Would that work?

No, I use the Aura with the rubber bands, I dislike the touch of the strap on my cheeks, and it slips on my head anyway.... The rubberband tweak is great for me.

Just an interim update - the past few nights have been better. I stopped using lubrication around my nostrils, and so the pillows seem to slide less. I think that in the heat, the lubricant was melting and making the pillows slip around! I guess that makes sense. Just happy that the CL2 has been so friendly to my nostrils that a few days with no "jelly" hasn't been a problem. With the Breeze I couldn't have skipped it....
Next time it happens, I'm going to try the panty hose tweak...
Shall I try blue hose? Or maybe black....

Re: My nose sweats and my nasal pillows leak - summer problems..
I put a thin strip of toilet paper between my upper lip and the nasal pillow part that touches my upper lip. Problem solved. Except sometimes it falls out. But then I reapply.
