Newbie to forum with a question

Post by tuner » Sun Jun 30, 2013 10:32 am

Hi Everyone,

I hope I'm posting in the right place. I have been
using a Remstar cpap for almost 9 years now, and I
have a question for all of you.

My machine sits on the floor beside me and I have
always just lay on my back and hold the weight of
the hose with my hand. I'm wondering if anyone
has tried mounting their hose up above on the wall
or to the head board to take away the weight of the
hose so it does not pull on the mask. Any suggestions would be
greatly appreciated , thanks

I use the Hose Buddy system. It works great fir me. There are cheaper hose management systems available but I wanted one that was the most sturdy and looked good.

Yup you can tie or attach it to the headboard, wall, ceiling.... whatever you want..... and your machine can sit on the night stand if you want. Especially if you route your hose up to the headboard, then you will never get rainout. Do a search in the above search box for the words hose hanger.... you will get a ton of ideas.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

I don't have a headboard on my bed, but there is a fairly low wooden window sill just above where my head rests. I simply screwed a medium sized hook that I got at the hardware store into the sill and then looped a thick and somewhat large woman's hair tie over the hook. I run the hose thru the hair tie and that gives some play, which is nice if I suddenly sit up in bed or roll over. Never had a problem with this method, plus the hose generally stays where I adjust it. If you don't have a window sill nearby, you could put a hook into a wall using a sheetrock anchor or an expanding bolt, then mount it like that.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Hi Tuner. I like Sir NoddinOff's approach the best. Quick, easy and simple. If you or others want a Hose Buddy type system like Zomglawlz has, do a Google search on north american healthcare jb5651 cpap hose holder You can buy the same type system for $10 or for $5 depending on whether you like Amazon better than eBay. I bought one a few months ago, but it's still in the box and will probably find its way to Pugsy's donation box.
Or you can click on the link below. To me, the above and below products look about the same.

Sometimes with certain electronic purchases they give you a little velcro belt to wrap around and contain your cords. I wrapped that belt around my CPAP hose, then I got another piece of velcro with an adhesive back, and stuck it near the top of my headboard. Now I drape my hose over the top of my headboard and let the velcro keep it in place. This help keep the full weight of the tube from influencing my mask positioning.

Thanks very much everyone , I made up a simple hose hanger on my headboard with some elastic hair ties. I just stapled a plastic tie wrap behind the headboard and connected the hair ties to it with a small Velcro belt to hold the hose. My machine is right beside me on the night stand. This gives me lots of hose without the weight of it. Thanks again

Hello tuner,

Holding on to the hose each night has got to be a drag. If you would care for a second option, you can try the tube clips sold by CPAP.com: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/tube-h ... -clip.html. As you can see, they only cost $4.50 each.

I use these and simply clip the hose to my mattress or sheet near my head. In all fairness, I would like you to know that it took two of the clips, side by side, to ensure the clips kept the hose where I wanted it.

Good Luck!
