Have you tried recording your sleep? Maybe there is a noise other than your parents? Also, are you sure your bed is not "causing" you to wake? Do you sleep differently in other beds? What happens if your parents are away?

I recorded my sleep once or twice for a different reason. And I have no idea. Although there is a possibility of another noise, I seriously doubt this is the case. I would have to test this out with a noise recorder which I do possess.
Why would my bed wake me up? I do not find anything wrong with it. No back pain, and pretty comfortable. And I definetely would sleep differently so that I can adjust to a new bed. But as of position, I am sort of stuck sleeping on my sides for the best sleep. My parents never go away. They are like glued to my home other then doing the vitals like work gorceries and other stuff. If my dad goes away my mom stays. It is very rare for both to go somewhere for a night

Well I am going to try better earplugs as a first step so that I can eliminate much more noises (hopefully). If I still wake up, well then it would be a time to investigate

Actually, not to add to your frustration, but waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to go back to sleep is not something you want to have. It's called 'Sleep Maintenance Disorder' and is generally considered difficult to address (I've got it, so I've done some previous research). I'll look for some links and see if I can point you to info that may help you. I hope the earbud idea helps... silicone ear plugs, available at any drugstore block out most of the sound.

Also, I've had some good success with white noise generators, fans running on low in the room and even radios tuned to a non-station; these help block out traffic noise, the garbage trucks, loud housemates etc. You just have to find what works for you.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Well, all I can say is be glad you're not married... I can't imagine how you'd ever have an intimate relationship in that household with your parents there all the time. Maybe a hotel room?

Lol I am only 22 so I have long time to think for marriage. Oh and I think I have silicone earplugs which did not work for me I think it has 19NRR. Also have a dohm white noise fan machine. Still no good. Well I am waiting for my earplugs which should arrived on Tuesday. Hopefully the above posters were right on its performance

I am one of those VERY sensitive people to any kind of noise during sleep. A thump will be enough to wake me out of bed. It sucks I am already thinking about ordering a foamy substance to place under the carpeting to lower the noise upstairs so that way their noise is reduced... Hopefully significantly What do you guys think?

And yes I will try to keep you posted.

I think you should look into moving or soundproofing your room. Noise unfortunately is one of those joys of living in a shared house. Just out of curiosity who owns the house?

I would hope that, for your parents' sake, that it would not be dangerous to walk on, challenging their ability to maintain their balance. As we become older and our bones more brittle, falls become a real threat to safety. Instead, how about a drop ceiling for your room made of sound-deadening drop-in panels? A DIY project.

My aunt owns the house and unfortunately she complains about EVERYTHING. Last week when I mentioned here about me putting up blackout shades to block out the sunlight. She was telling me I can not do it because it reprents a dead person. (I did it anyway and oh boy did she complain)

Yes I live under bad circumstances.
Anyways soundproofing would definetely be my top priority next to school. So where can I begin? And I tried to envision the drop ceiling things and I could not come up with how that would work or look.

Oh and now I have to invest in a new air conditioner since mine is in the kitchen. This is all hard to do with 12$ an hour part-time AND attending school

Well I do keep your suggestions in mind so the more ideas you guys bring the better

I used to have the same trouble but my time for waking up was 2:00 - 3:00, I go to bed at 10:00, I'm a lot older too . Noise was not an issue because I am near deaf when I take my hearing aids out, my wife says someone could tear the place down around me and I would still be sleeping

Unlike you I have many other ailments that it could be, one of these being Gerd. I went out and bought myself a 7-1/2" pillow wedge to help with my Gerd. Something in your post made me think of this, you sleep on your sides a lot, might be an unknown reason, even to you why you do not sleep on your back. Since I bought my wedge, I rarely if ever wake up at 2:00 - 3:00, I sleep until my alarm goes off or until my wife nudges me (hits me) and tells me its going off.

Before you buy a wedge, try stacking pillows to lift your head and shoulder area a little to see if that makes for a more comfortable sleep. You may find yourself sleeping on your back more which may leave you feeling more rested in the morning. Not saying this is the cure but may be worth a try.

I think your aunt may have misunderstood. Blackout shades are not normally black. Usually, no one looking at them could distinguish them from regular windowshades. "Blackout" describes the degree of opaqueness of the material, not the color of the shade. They can be white. See, for example:

Well if your aunt owns the house and she's complaining about windowshades, I guess she won't go for the drop ceiling but this video should help you understand the concept, just in case she has a change of heart
