Ancient CPAP machine

Post by hyperlexis » Thu Jun 27, 2013 7:48 pm

WOW -- I've been looking around for a working model of Respironics/Resmed/Sullivan's orginal CPAP model(s).

I think this relic comes pretty close. I take it the owner is dead....

Anyone ever seen one of these before? What is it? How old?

Not sure about the one you have but the guy that has the hospital sleep center showed up at a Senior Expo with this one. Don't know if it is for sale.

This one looks older than the Respirionics, I have not seen this one, thought it looked a lot like the compressor I run my nail gun off of.

That's a Healthdyne Tranquility circa early to mid 90's prior to being aquired by Respironics.

Sure an old old machine indeed. I would like to know what the rebreather bag is for???? Would be amazing to see this in action, if any are still around and working. How they would be different from todays (straight) CPAPS, other than sheer size.....

I asked about the bag but the guy did not know. Told me to come back later and ask the lady that runs the lab, she might know but I did not make it back. The blower was belt driven. He said it still worked but they did not have any power in the booth so I could not see it run.
