Going camping with my cpap this weekend. Any suggestions to make the trip tolerable would be helpful. We will be tent camping but electricity is available.

- Bring a tray for your cpap so that you have something level and flat to put it on. I bought a small plastic serving tray from a local restaurant. It's light and great for putting on the car floor behind the front passenger seat when I'm sleeping during travel too.
- Masks and hoses are easy to clean, but machines less so. Even if I'm in a tent, once my tank and hoses are set, I put my cpap machine inside a light cotton or poly pillow case. It may seem counterintuitive, but a very light pillow case should allow plenty of air through to the filter so long as you don't bunch up the end of the pillow case over your machine's air filter. Otherwise bugs and pollen get everywhere inside the machine.
- Make sure your extension cord is long enough and weatherproof where it needs to be. Bring an extra length just in case.

Re: camping
Storing you mask and hose when not in use inside a pillow case might be a good idea to keep spiders out.

Good point. Many masks come with zippered nylon pouches, unless your DME is withholding it along with the extra pieces when you get a new mask. These work well as storage pouches for hoses too, if they're big enough.Stormynights wrote:Storing you mask and hose when not in use inside a pillow case might be a good idea to keep spiders out.
