Pulse Oxymeter CMS50D+ Question

Post by JaxTalk » Mon Jun 24, 2013 8:26 am

Hello all, I bought the CMS50D+ Pulse Oxymeter a month ago. I bought this one because it has data recording capability. For some reason it is only recording the first 45-50 minutes each night. Is anyone else having this issue? I would like it to record the entire evening.

I turn "Record " on at night and there is a flashing dot. When I wake up in the morning it's still clipped to my finger. It takes 2 AAA batteries that I used for an entire month before they needed to be replaced.

Are you sure it is not recording the whole night but the software is displaying just the first hour?

Click the M button on the bottom of your computer's screen and check SHOW ALL.

I have had mine for a week and it records all night.

Yeah, at the bottom of the screen you will see 1,10,60,M (manual)

The numbers represent minutes shown on the screen, and arrows on the bottom allow you to move around ... So 1 minute is very enlarged, I was not aware of the "show all" choice, I just put in 8 hours if I slept more than 7, but less than 8.

Seems strange your not seeing the first 60 minutes ...

lawlz... yes, i also bought this very model about a year ago. i also bought for it's data recording capability. i also found that it only recorded briefly, and not once was i able to get a reading that lasted an entire night.

i tried a lot of things: various taping methods, various fingers, positions, wearing a pillow cover over the hand. i subsequently concluded that this model is completely inappropriate for constant analysis, particularly when one is asleep. each morning, all that i found was a painful finger and that the data was missing. so frustrated was i that i even tested the device for many, many hours while awake and perfectly still to see what was going on. i don't know if it's because i have misshapen fingers, but all that i can say is that i although i would get a reading, i would frequently have to slightly readjust the position of my finger because the signal would eventually get lost. i'm sure it has nothing to do with loss of blood circulation, because like i've stated before, i tested so many hypotheses that to tell you all of them would just send you into a very deep sleep!

although i have never used this model myself, i am of the belief that your chances of getting a complete night's of oximetry data will be improved if you use the contec CMS50F instead:

however, based on my experiences with this and other made in china electronics e.g. pH meters, thermostats, inverters, i certainly believe that you do get what you paid for and in future will make an effort to only buy european, japanese or american. although it may be biased, i recommend you check out this clip of the nonin oximeters:

I get a full nights sleep recorded on my 50D+

It is kind of a pain downloading ... But ... It is a one shot deal!
