Changing Mask Questions

I want to change my mask to a nasal pillow. My DME said I need the Dr to write a prescription. Is that standard to have to get the Dr involved again?

Would you just order the one you want from cpap.com and get the other one from the DME so you have two choices? or could it screw up therapy without the Dr involved?

When I first started this, my doctor wrote my prescription for a specific nasal mask (the one they used during my titration). When that didn't work for me at home, we had her change the prescription to "mask of patient's choice" which then allowed me to get whatever I wanted.
