I slept last night!

Post by chrate » Thu Jun 20, 2013 5:28 am

Oh my goodness. I feel so good. I think I slept about 5 hours last night. Only problem I had last night was leaking around my pillows. Gonna try the medium tonight instead of the small. But I feel great!

same thing with me. It's incredible. I am actually out and about in the world before 7 am every day for the first time in 30 years since I left the Navy.

Get to work on time. Have 2 hours of productivity extra every day. I don't have to sleep in a separate room from my wife because of snoring.

Plus it may be a coincidence but my blood pressure is down 5 points, my sugar is below 110 every day since I started. My daily headaches seem to have gone away.

I don't know if I can say this but my wife says our you know what is a little better. Maybe because my frame of mind improved, or I am getting more excercise .. I dont know.

I called several of my friends and try to convince them to get tested. One guy in particular is such a AM slow mention dude and snores so loud he has to sleep in the basement.
<- My life is dramatically changed for the better within 3 days of CPAP therapy!

Nice pleasant side effect in that regards isn't it? You aren't alone. Happens to a lot men once they get the therapy nailed down. The return of Mr Woody in the AM has been mentioned often.
Part of it is frame of mind but part of it is the physiological response to not having the body stressed out from the sleep apnea events. The body isn't so worn out anymore so it feels more like playing.
Enjoy.

Congrats are getting the 5 hours! I just arrived recently at that milestone myself. It is wonderful and I'm greedy enough to begin reaching for more.

Before last Sept.I had slept for 2 yrs in a lounge chair in the family room sleeping for 2 hr. shifts. In my bedroom was a Tempurpedic bed. a loving- and patient husband, and one white Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso, named Charlie. Charlie was confused about his family's sleeping arrangements. He padded into the family room at intervals to check on me.

September I started BiPAP with a Sleepweaver mask. It took about a month to get to 3 hrs of real sleeping IN MY OWN BED with MY OWN HUSBAND and CHARLIE. Since then, I graduated to Sleepweaver's Elan and, now, the Wisp (following Chunky Frog) AND I'm getting 5-7 hrs. of unbroken sleep.

I read this board often learning something new every time. Thank you all. Next I plan to attack softwear and the little card in my machine.

Doesn't it feel wonderful???

THAT's why we all do this, a good night's restful sleep is like the best drug in the world (shhhh, don't tell or EVERYONE will want a CPAP).

Now that you know what you're aiming for, it will be easier to work toward it. Don't be surprised if it takes a while to get a regular sleep pattern established, but now you know why it's worth doing. Soon enough you'll be sleeping through every night and waking calm, peaceful, and fully oxygenated.
