Thanks for all the help in earlier topics but I do still have questions.
Has anyone had trouble with all the security measures at the airport getting their CPAP through?
Does it slow down the procedure any more than other carry on items?
My bag is smaller than most carry-ons even with the humid, hose and mask parts, so I will stow in under the seat in front of me to make sure it gets there and safely.
Can I bring water in a <3 oz bottle in my carry-on toiletries bag to get me through the first night before I find more distilled water at my destinations?
I am going to Orlando twice and , Block Island, RI via ferry this summer just trying to get prepared.

All of the info you could ever want has been discussed in many threads.
Go to the search box (under the cpaptalk logo) and enter "travel". You'll find enough
reading to keep you busy until your departure date.

Re: Air Travel with My CPAP
TSA knows what cpap is and I just take it out with my lap top, some people don't take it out at all. I forgot it in my bag last month and it just went through the scanner. The buckles on my sandals caused more issues.birdygirl38 wrote:Thanks for all the help in earlier topics but I do still have questions.

Don't try to bring water, any bottled water will do, even tap water will do in a pinch if you are not a third world country. You don't want water in the same bag as your machine. Distilled is to prevent mineral build up. A vinegar rinse when you get home will take care of it. You can pick up a bottle of water in the airport when you arrive.

Just be sure to put your mask and hose in zip-lock bags.
That way if they need to inspect things, they're not getting their hands all over the thing you press to your face each night.

We don't have to take our shoes off but Birkenstocks have these big metal buckles. I keep forgetting about the metal thing. A few years ago I wore a top where the neck line was studded with big fake gems in metal settings - I ended up getting a complete once over and was told never to wear that top flying again.Sheriff Buford wrote:Let me look at them buckles... prop your feet up here...BlackSpinner wrote:The buckles on my sandals caused more issues.
