Oh thank goodness I have gastroenteritis!

Post by pootsie » Fri Jun 07, 2013 7:02 pm

So here I am exactly two weeks into my CPAP journey,

I woke up this morning with a familiar feeling: headache, muscle soreness, lethargy--just could not drag myself out of bed and felt like crud.

I am one of the lucky ones here; my OSA is relatively mild and I have experienced immediate positive results with hardly a hiccup in compliance. (Of course a lot of credit for that goes to you all!) I have also read that some here experience a tapering of benefit, and of course I feared this morning that I had somehow hit that point, quite abruptly and roughly.

So imagine how happy I was when my symptoms soon evolved to include nausea, chills, vomiting, painful diarrhea, and so on!

Seriously, I did feel a moment of gratitude when I realized that it is not the OSA that had me down today. Is that odd?

I collapsed into bed when I got home from work (I had some things that just could not be put off) and logged about 11 hours on my machine! Between racing to the bathroom, of course

My 2yo daughter had it all this week, although a much more mild case. I did take her to the Dr. Their advice, as always with gastroenteritis, was hydration, rest, and mild non-greasy food.

The little one is all better now. I am already past the worst of it. Still run-down and runny, but on the upswing. Thanks for asking, though!

I wonder if anyone treats that with probiotics.
Kind of like helping the good bugs crowd out the bad bugs.

My DW takes probiotics and did not come down with the yuckies. Could be something.

The little one is all better, thanks. Daddy still working on it.

Even with the several gajillion words strewn over and about the Internet, I would bet good money that one cannot elsewhere find these words: "Oh thank goodness I have gastroenteritis!"

Feel better soon!

So Pootsie is off of the potty? (Say it in Raj from "The Big Bang Theory"'s voice.)

I can't believe that you went to work in that condition. Glad to
hear that you're feeling better.

I'm still racing to the loo every so often, though
