We are tracked in everything we do on the web now by a multitude of companies. I've been noticing more and more lately that things I search for suddenly show up as advertizements everywhere I go. I now get ads for CPAP everywhere and also bidet addon systems because I looked at some on Amazon once. I just installed "DontTrackMe" and tested it on cpaptalk.com. The results:
Not nearly as bad as many, but still frustrating. Thought you'd be interested to know.

That's harmless child's play.
This is the real threat ...

... and wait til they link the system up to domestic drones due to start flying the friendly American skies within the next few years and then the real danger begins.
Privacy? What's that? Sounds like something out of an old constitutional document that people in north America used to use for the law of the land.

"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1759
If people spend time on or use "social media" sites, use "smart" phone, do online banking and other transactions, and give out lots of their personal information on the Internet, they are making some serious mistakes.
If you think all this stuff is not being monitored........think again.

Our privacy has been at risk for many years.
In 1968, we noticed that whenever we answered our phone, there was an extra 'click' on the line.
(this was a private line--no party line)
We started scolding the unseen eavesdroppers, putting them to shame,
and heaping tons of guilt upon them, for snooping and annoying honest citizens.
It stopped soon after that.
