No Longer for Sale - Sold

Post by grace62 » Sun Jun 02, 2013 1:06 pm

This was my main machine until I got a new one last week. It's a real work horse and is going strong in spite of 5 years of use and 18400 hours. From the beginning, the button you turn it on and off with is sensitive so a bit irritating however that was a design fluke from the company and like most people who have used this machine I got used to it. In other words, the button needs to be pushed more than once sometimes. I have to figure out how to post photos here but until I do just PM me and I'll send photos to you via email or find another way.

Ours is a no pet no smoking home.

It comes with a blue padded carrying case (note I have listed this elsewhere so this is a first come, first served situation - if it sells there first , I'll take it down here), a new hose still in unopened plastic, 2 water holders for the humidifier (note shipping will be cheaper if I send only one water container so let me know if you want 2), the humidifier, extra air filters, the machine itself with it's electrical cord. It's always been used with a surge protector. I may have a new card to throw in with it but will have to look.

Important - it is set for my use which is 10-13. It will need to be re-calibrated for your use. I'll try to find my instructions for the machine but you may have to get these on line. Please take seriously the need to have this set for your own air needs as too much or too little air at night can physically hurt you. I see another person has listed a machine and knows of the clinical way to reset it but I don't know about how to do that for this machine.

I take PayPal. If you want to know if you can trust me - my name on eBay is anointedbook I have over 900 100% feedback ratings and have been on eBay for many years. I'm trying to upload photos of the machine here.

I am selling this on 2 other sites so let me know if you're interested. I will take this down if it sells on another site.

Maybe you should use it as a backup machine.

Thanks I discussed this with my provider and have never needed a back up so think it's a waste to just have it hanging around.

That's excellent, it is very rare to find a DME that is open nights, weekends and holidays!!

The primary limitation of the Vantage, in my opinion, is that EPR is available on that machine only when it is used in CPAP mode. EPR cannot be used in AutoSet mode with that machine. That can be confusing to people who get an APAP machine with EPR hoping to use the EPR in APAP mode. Can't be done with that machine. As I understand it, anyway.

Found the draft here it is Still haven't figured out how to load images from my computer but hey it's a learning curve.

This is in response to both messages - Provided and I agreed I can manage for 2 days without a machine if absolutely necessary.

Thanks for the info re epr - didn't know that. Not used to that feature as both of the machines I've had so far didn't have it. Here's more info for others http://www.resmed.com/us/assets/html/de ... =patients‎
I didn't know what epr was so probably have it on my new machine. If I were buying I'd read all posts so hope any potential buyer reads this.

The Resmed Autoset Vantage came out in 2005. If there are 18,400 run hours on it, typical use profile might be:

6.25 hours a night for 8 years
7.25 hours a night for 7 years
8.5 hours a night for 6 years
10 hours a night for 5 years

Secondwindcpap.com has a gently used (usually less than 500 hours) model for $299 with 6 month guarantee, so it doesn't look like you have a lot of residual value left in your machine for resale; $200 sounds very high for a machine with that many hours on it.

You might want to reconsider keeping it for a backup, since you wouldn't have to depend on it and worry that it might fail at any moment.

CPAP.com says it very simply, much better than I did above:
CPAP.com info on Vantage, under Important Tips wrote:"The EPR and Auto features cannot be used simultaneously."--https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... -cpap.html then click on "Important Tips."

Once again I'm justifying my decision to sell this machine. I've lowered the price. I have never had a machine die on me. I'm not saying this might not happen with this machine - can any one know? for sure? when and if it will. I take very good care of my things so possibly that buys me and any purchaser significantly more time.

Just a thought... I volunteered an S8 model to Granbury residents hit by a tornado a few weeks ago. That may be something for you to consider... OK isn't far from Iowa, and both in the Tornado Belt. regards,

Thanks good idea - If I give rather than giving locally I'll contact MO via Red Cross or a church.
