EncorePro 1.6i support?

Post by kasey » Thu Jun 01, 2006 3:03 pm

I'm new to this board, but I've been on CPAP for almost 3 years; RemStar C-Flex since last year. Until recently, most of my struggles have been finding a mask that fits. Now I'm onto trying to get better control over the CPAP machine itself.

I am very interested in buying the EncorePro reader and software, but I've noticed that software updates are now restrictred by Respironics. I'm concerned if I buy the software that (1) the software has bugs that can't be corrected and (2) the software won't work in the future with new equipment, etc. I can't find much written on these subjects.

I'd love some insight from this board's members on either of my concerns, but particularly whether or not there have been any bugs noted in v1.6i.

Thanks. And this board has been great reading!

Kasey,

I wouldn't worry about it. There's a lot of us that are using the various versions of that software and nobody (to my knowledge) has had any "bugs" to report. Most software is backwards compatible......and the 1.6i is written for the new "M" series, which I'm sure is going to be around for some time to come.

Kasey.....1.6i on the box...go to help...look at "about Encore Pro" and it should
be version 1.6.22

Many of us have NOT been able to get MyEncore to work with this 1.6.22.

I have heard Encore (Pro??) 1.5 is still available...I am going backwards from
1.6.22 and try to load 1.5. THEN I can get MyEncore to work.

edro has a thread about this. But Den is right...we have some very intelligent
people on this forum. If they had the time to do it, I am sure they could
figure out any bugs the programs might have.

Welcome to the forum...I can't begin to tell you how much help they have been
for me...

Installing Software is like pushing a rope uphill.
I have Encore Pro 1.8.65 but could not find it listed
under software.

I LOVE the SV.

I would also add that some us us cannot get EncorePro to work. I loaded EncorePro on my PC and it has never worked. I finally got it to work on my kids PC. Now it doesn't work on that PC because it cannot find the database. I paid $200 for the software and reader. Many people on this board have had problems and gave me advice, but it still doesn't work. $200 down the drain. I think I am the exception but I wanted to add that there are problems getting this software to run. I think if Respironics wants to keep my business in the long run they are going to understand that we as consumers expect support for our expensive investments including the software that lets us track how we are doing. Don

P.S. Both my computers are current, high-end Dell models. I've never had problems with any other software, so it's not my equipment.
