Amen. I finally heard from all my friends in the area. My heart aches for these people. Just 14 years ago 41 people lost their lives in a tornado in Moore and now this. They haven't had time to fully recover from the last one. It is just so sad.

Following it closely and relieved to hear from family in Moore that they are ok. Saddened by all I'm seeing. Anyone know if there is any organization that coordinates useds CPAPs for those without the means to replace lost goods?

I became a storm spotter during a 2-yr job in Altus, OK. I listened on scanner while storms went over the Red River area and headed for OKC. When I went to the 2003 Storm Spotters Conference in Norman/Moore in 2003, they discussed the '99 storms in detail. I saw this likely disaster coming Friday when Storm Prediction Center posted the outlook for the weekend.

I talked to my DME. He said he was unaware of any organization that would provide CPAPs in an emergency such as this and it would be an issue since an Rx is required. However, the DMEs are required to have an emergency plan in place. He has a database of all his patients by zip code. He has already checked and none of his patients were in the affected area. He said that anyone in need of a replacement should contact their provider.

How hard is it for a human to shoot a deer? I trust youre doing this for food, not for sport.

Would seem strange "enjoying" slaughtering an innocent animal as beautiful as a deer.

1. Very. Deer are extremely cagy and tend to go nocturnal after the 2nd month of gun season.
2. Deer overpopulation is a serious problem in several areas of the US, especially those areas whose native wolf and coyote populations were decimated during the last two centuries. Without hunters to manage the population, an over-sized herd can decimate the ground forage before winter fully sets in. As the season progresses, starvation sets in seriously weakening all of the individuals in the herd and killing many more individuals than responsible hunting would have done.
3. These are both over-simplifications. Very few people who eat meat have ever seen the outside of a slaughterhouse, much less "enjoy" the process. Labeling certain species as 'Innocent' or 'Beautiful' is also an exercise in cultural relativity. Just ask anyone who's ever been injured or totaled a car while trying to avoid hitting a deer or a squirrel.

I was broadsided by a deer just about 4 miles from my house. It hit me on the driver side door. We don't eat deer meat but I know people who do. I don't think it is wrong to eat deer meat I just don't like it. I think cows are beautiful animals too. We don't hunt them but maybe we would if they were wild animals and there was a hunting season for them.

don't try to confuse him with the facts.People like that just don't get it ! Conservation, he knows not . if he was so sensitive toward his fellow man as he pretends to be of wildlife, he would put his brain in gear before opening his pie hole and says hurtful things. i sent a friendly message to this fellow human being last night & he said he meant no harm. to me.....that is strange.
