Sleep Study while sick?
I've come down with a cold. It's not really bad. I do have Chronic Bronchitis though but still no fever or anything. Would doing my sleep study on Monday mess with the results? The lab paperwork says that if you aren't running a fever they'll still do the study

Re: Sleep Study while sick?
I had the same issue pop up for my second study. Everyone on the board and at the sleep lab said it would not matter and to do it as long as I didn't have a fever. Considering how much you have been trying to get in for your study, I would not reschedule it. Your kids animals will keep you warmSleepyonMagnoliaSt wrote:I've come down with a cold. Thanks Noob! I really don't want to have to reschedule and then wait and wait for another appointment lolNooblakahn wrote:I had the same issue pop up for my second study. Re: Sleep Study while sick?
My opinion...
The sleep study collects data to determine how you are doing. It is a compromise at best. You are in a strange location and sleeping in a strange bed. You are wired up and are being watched for body movements. It is also quite expensive and the results impact you for a long time.
I think you need to go into the sleep study feeling as good as possible with the idea that you can get the best data that way.
If money is no concern it would be interesting to compare the data from a sick night and a well night. This may be useful in making slight adjustments at home when you aren't feeling well.

If you are frequently sick, maybe a good idea; otherwise, probably should wait.

To make sure you can breathe freely through your nose, bring some Afrin with you, or you will definitely get stuck with a full face mask. (I speak from experience.)

Re: Sleep Study while sick?
Wanted to give you all an update! Nose is a LOT less snotty. I'm coughing all to high hell. But I get bronchitis 5-6 times a year so this is completely normal for me.
I don't feel bad at all. Hopefully this continues so I can do my study tomorrow night

I'll definitely update! It's going to be hard for me not to nap tomorrow. I nap 4-5 times a day usuallyStormynights wrote:Best wishes and sweet dreams. Post in the morning. Get out of the house. I don't get tempted to nap in my yard.

Re: Sleep Study while sick?
I was just thinking of setting up the hammock . . . (sigh)
I could take the travel machine out when I want to recline.
Oh, well; maybe after I retire. {{{23 days}}}
