How can you prevent bald spots from headgear?

Post by sabca » Wed May 01, 2013 2:33 pm

I use a FitLife mask and after getting a haircut today notice a noticeable thin hair spot on the back of my head where my headgear rests. Quite upsetting since I keep my hair very short in the back. Has anyone experienced this problem and how did you solve it?

Try a Buff, or add lining.
Here's a thread which may be of interest:

Bump. Some of the soft, knitted chemo sleep caps made quite a hit.

Last night I tried this:

When I put the cap on the first time, my initial thought was that the mask would probably slip - but it was slipping already, any way, so I'd make adjustments from there. I thought I might have to sew some ties on it and maybe some velcro on the back of my mask. The lace around the crown of the head works well with velcro, by the way.

I used just the mask last night - absolutely NOTHING slipped. I bunned my hair and put the cap on. The cap did not slip at all, either.

I am impressed. This morning I purchased a few more things to try out with my mask at night - I'll update this with each trial as I try each product.

Happy Happy.

PS Ladies, if you've found anything else that works - please be invited to post about it here.

Padacheek offers a strap just for the fitlife headgear. I was also having a hard time with the headgear. I have used the strap cover for a few years and it has solved my issues. The stap is getting sorta worn out. I'll need a new one soon.

Telly or Yul?

You're dating yourself.

Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, baby.
