Pulse Oximeter 50D+ HELP!!!

Post by 123.Shawn T.W. » Tue Apr 30, 2013 10:06 am

I bought and used my Contec CMS50D+ last year very little ... went to use it this morning, and I am having trouble ... It appears to be working ... I recorded a walk to get a record of my pulse rate (my Dr wanted me to get my pulse up to 120!) I get home, and trying to go by memory on how to download to my computer (using Windows 7 64 bit and SP02 V1.2)... I screw it up ... but just record another "session" and try again ... I keep getting this stupid warning error message:

However, for some reason if I go to the SP02 Assistant, I get this:
Image

No idea how that got there ... that program also said "No devise found"... !!!

When I follow the directions ... leaving the meter on, and plug it into my computer ... then open SP02 Review, I don't get the option to start a new session!

I have used two different cords, that both work with my camera ...

It did work once before on this computer ... I got it sometime last fall ...

The battery light is not on, but the meter is 9-10 moths old ... would that be something to try, change the batteries?

My suggestion: Uninstall it completely, then following the original directions (which may require a CD), install the driver. In all likelihood this should be done BEFORE reconnecting the meter, but your directions will say...

1.) Click and hold the main button to power on
2.) Launch the SPO2 Review program
3.) Click and hold the main button again to bring up the menu
4.) quick click the main button (each click moves the selection down a level) until "Upload data" is chosen
5.) On the SPO2 Review program, click on File Data (the Magnifying Glass)
6.) Click and hold the main button to select "upload data"...the upload begins and concludes in a few seconds.

ALL DONE

Kevin,

I un-installed, then reloaded, did not see any "driver" option ... there directions leave MUCH to be desired ...

Went to my wife's computer down loaded from Cooper Medical's site v1.2 same as my computer ... got out my install disc ... only says support up to Vista (We both have 7 64 bit) installed anyways, still same same ...

Fletch,

I don't have the "upload data" option on my meter, is that where you are finding it? Or is it in the computer software your talking about?

In the SP02 ASSISTANT program ... there is a "connect devise" option, but that also says devise not found!

You must use the usb cable that came with the meter. It has a circuit inside to convert data from serial to usb. A normal usb cable will not function correctly.

imfletch, on my 50D+ there is no upload data option only alarm, record and exit. So long as you can see the menu then it is in the correct mode to upload.

BINGO! Thanks so much!
It worked!

I had just grabbed the cable I download pictures from my camera ... then tried my wifes camera cable ... dug out the original cable from my laptop bag, because of your post ... and it "saw it"!
