Size of nasal pillows

Post by Hogsrul » Mon Apr 15, 2013 6:58 am

Does the size of the nasal pillow affect the pressure? I have been going from medium to large and it seems as though I can breathe much better with the large, but my AHI is higher when I wear them. Anyone else have this issue?

No, it won't affect the pressure delivered but it can affect the perceived air flow.
How higher are we talking about? and what is the event category breakdown?
Medium vs large???the AHI and the breakdown.

I recently moved from a small to a medium (Swift FX). The medium subjectively feels like I am getting more air, but based on the SleepyHead charts, my pressures are no different. One thing I have noticed is an increase in clear airway events which has driven my average AHI up a tad. These are sporadic; maybe only once or twice a week I have an AHI of 6 or 7 with mostly CAs. Most of the time I am below 2. Do you know what the breakdown of your events are since you moved to a large?

Great question. I didn't record when I changed from Med to Lg the first time, but I changed last night and will record the difference from here on out.
