Confessing my sins - multiple user names

Post by STL Mark » Sun Apr 07, 2013 8:54 pm

In case someone notices the newest user name, I created "STLMark" and "STL-Mark" on the forum tonight. I have no plans to use them and they will remain inactive.

Since I sell things here from time to time I could see a potential for members being taken advantage of if an unscrupulous person got those profiles. If I have violated any forum rules, please delete those profiles and accept my apology.

I don't know what the forum rules are about multiple user names, but there are a number of people here who have more than one (some even multiple) and it has never bothered me. As a respected forum member who occasionally sells things, I totally get your logic on why you would want to do it and appreciate your desire to be open and honest about it!

Mark, as a fellow geek, and one who is acutely aware of ID theft, I think I understand your logic of registering the logins- so somebody else won't do so.
Unfortunately, it is increasingly difficult to safeguard one's personal data, more difficult yet to protect against login hijacking. I applaud your forethought and suggest what you did is not an abuse (not that I get a vote ). earl

Good idea!
Just thinking; how many iterations would I have to go through to cover my little green hiney?
Ouch!

I have 3 different names. Change them when I change the topic. I can't see what difference it makes unless you are a dating service - hehehe!!!

Thanks for the heads up STLMark. I suppose an ID thief ot STL impostor could use some null characters, spaces or bizarre spelling to emulate your member name/tag, however you did what you had to do. We are talking about a lot money in some of these transactions.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

STL Mark,
The penance for your sins shall be 50% off anything you sell in the next 30 minutes and the use of a single name for the next 45 minutes!
