How much Control III
How much Control III
How much Control III should I use per gallon of water? The bottle says 1 or 2 poz, and I am not sure which.

One ounce per gallon is plenty. I use it all the time and my bottle said 1 oz to a gallon, so I have been sucessfully using it with that ratio - - that's plenty, believe me

Re: How much Control III
Will a good soaking of Contol III remove any white scale build up in the humidifier tank? Will it also get rid of any scummy white residue? I guess what I'm asking is will I still have to detail the inside of the tank with a q-tip (man, I hate that) Yes, I do use distilled water.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Soak the tank for 10-15 minutes in white vinegar. You may need to use an old toothbrush. Rinse thoroughly and repeat if needed.

Vinegar soak then maybe some bleach? My room humidifier states to descale the unit with vinegar and disinfect the tank with bleach. I do this weekly with the room humidifier.
CPAP humidifier just gets a cleaning with soap weekly, I don't have any film or substances in it.

I am using an F&P Icon and I have never in over 2 years with these machines seen any build up of scale in the humidifier tank - - maybe it's just the difference in tank design, so I haven't had to de-scale. I only use the Control III about once a week or so, and I just soak the tank and other parts including mask and hose in a bucket with an ounce of Control III pre-mixed with a gallon of water - - for a minimum of ten minutes. It really gets stuff clean and leaves a slight medicinal smell - always rinse well. I am actually surprised how clean it gets my silicone mask cushion - - makes it almost like new, and I haven't seen any signs of degredation or discoloring of the soft silicone parts - - one reason I don't use more than the specified one ounce to a gallon......if you mix it too strong it can be caustic.

Hmmm. Thanks for the info. Maybe I'll just put the PR tank in the dishwasher on the top rack... anybody do that??? Maybe set it to cooler washing temps?

Yeah, I tried that and it did seem to cut back on the scaly stuff but I still had to get in there with a Q-Tip. Those PR sys one tanks are full of baffles, partitions and loads of nooks and crannies.
