Selling ResMed VPAP Adapt SV w/ HumidAire 2i & supplies.

Post by dream-chasers » Thu Mar 28, 2013 7:12 pm

Hi! I am new to this site and I'm hoping to sell my VPAP unit. I'm not sure how this whole process works. I am looking for recommendations regarding my asking price. Do I ask an additional amount for shipping or include shipping in the asking price? Is it OK to ship it via USPS? Is it OK to request payment be made via PayPal? My unit is in like new condition. I just checked the hours used and it says 0:48 hours used. This probably seems like a silly question, but does that mean 48 minutes or 48 hours of actual usage? I know that it has very little use, but I'm not sure if it measures how long it was turned on or actually used while sleeping. I want to sell this to someone who needs it, but I am also in dire need of the money so I am wondering what an appropriate asking price is.

This is a list of all of the items that I'm selling as one lot:

ResMed VPAP Adapt SV (For some reason the total cost for the unit isn't listed. I do remember that the price shocked me.)
Power Cord
HumidAire 2i ($390.00)
Air Delivery System x 2($76.50) One set is new, unopened in the package.
Tubing ($45.00) One set is new, unopened in the package.
Mirage Quattro Full Face Mask ($205.00)
Headgear for Full Face Mask ($45.00)
ResMed Face Mask Bags x 2
ResMed Carrying Case

I will also include all of the paperwork I have.

I am hoping to sell this ASAP. I live in Central Michigan if anyone lives nearby and would like to arrange pick up.

Thank you for any advice!!!

I believe this unit was made in about 2008. My guess would be that your hours used number is the duration of the last session. I believe these units required a serial cable to extract data. But only a portion of the units were enhanced to collect data from.

It would be helpful to indicate in the ad if the unit has been tested in any way. And state if it comes from a smoking or non smoking home.

Considering the unknown hours and the age of the supplies I would estimate the total package value at $200-300. Not sure but assuming the quattro mask is opened... Finding a buyer for this will be more difficult than a typical cpap. Place your city, state, country information In your profile and indicate if you will accept payment after inspection or if you are expecting someone to give you money up front.

I might want this as a backup if reasonable enough.

Nooblakahn ~ I sent a private message to you.

STL Mark ~ I got this unit in 2011 brand new. According to my DME, it was the most advanced VPAP on the market at the time. I had severe, life-threatening Central Sleep Apnea so they wanted me to have this model. It is one of the enhanced ones that you can retrieve information from. I called my DME and the rep stated that 0:48 hours is the number of hours it has been used to date. I didn't think I had even used it for that many hours, but either way it's very little. So, the unit and equipment are only two years old. I doubled checked the date on the invoice. Now with the updated information, how much do you think a good asking price would be?

Thanks for your input!

I am not interested in buying the unit, but, I'm curious as to how you could have had " life threatening" central apnea and after less than 48 hours usage, you don't need the VPAP any more????

I don't remember when the S9 version of this machine was released but it is possible that at the time the OP here was given this machine it may have been the latest model. ResMed upgraded the ASV models last and I just can't remember when the S9 version was introduced. Time runs together but seems like sometime in 2011.

Provider manual should be available at by email request

Create a free account on photobucket.com and upload your photos there. Once they are uploaded you will have the option to get "IMG" tags to include the pictures in a forum post. You can then add that information as part of your text here.

Is it this unit:

Just a note.. not to be e rude.. I wouldn't pay alot for this machine, for a few reasons. This machine is not 100% compatible with my current script (not only do I use a fairly unique machine... I have a fairly settings) but its close enough that if cheap enough I would consider it as a back up.

Another reason, a reputable forum member has this same machine for 350, so you would have to be below that price for me to consider. This particular member has been selling machines for awhile on this forum... he has a great reputation of delivering what he says he will. Not saying you wouldn't mind you, but its a risk I'd be taking that I wouldn't with the other member.

Again, not trying to be rude, just setting expectations before either of us wastes the others time.

Not a problem. It makes sense for you to purchase the machine for $350 from the reputable forum member.
