CAB's could provide information to equipment manufacturers about the problems experienced by users, what interferes with compliance, what users like or dislike about their machines. They can serve as a link between a community of users and manufacturers; passing information both ways

I visited ResMed recently to purchase a machine and asked the question as I find the full face mask the best, but also love the Activa when I don't have a blocked nasal passages. They said they had considered doing a full face activa, but decided not to because as the activa stands, it's a lot larger than the standard nasal masks due to the extra large cushion, and that would mean that a full face mask would be enormous.

I support the ideas of linking more with manufacturers/designers.

Find ways to link with respiratory therapists in DMEs and sleep techs in sleep labs and doctors, for their professional development.

Offer more tips for newbies and those not-so-new, compilations of cpaptalk.com wisdom.

ok HERE is where I could see a use for subforums. I honestly haven't SEEN an interview with a manufacturer. It might be helpful to have a subforum where we could just drop in and POST a question which could then be compiled into a list of questions for a manufacturer. I would think that these would have to be heavily moderated if there was any hope at all that the manufactuer's reps would actually come in and directly answer questions. They aren't going to read through a lot of fluff. But as a tool to compile questions... might be useful.

A xPAP advocacy group would be really great, but I have NO idea how that would be handled.

gotta go to a meeting...

I love the idea of user ratings, maybe have a choice of up to 5 stars kind of like on Amazon.com where you can rate products. What about maybe even having a section on upcoming products that manufacturers are working on that might be available in the future? Just a thought.

SuxBeingU,
Some Dr.s and sleep labs do have ties to particular sellers (DME) and send your prescription directly to them. A newbie problem for those that get to this educational board after they receive the cheapest equipment. Those Docs and sleep labs wouldn't want your pamphlet!
