I HAVE to use distilled water. What comes out of the tap is a curious solution of liquid limestone that'll clog a showerhead in 2 weeks.

Are you my neighbor down the road? That sounds like my water plus I get a nice red iron ring in the toilet after just one week.

I used to joke about vodka in the humidifier, but I realized that heated vodka can get really flammable if you heat it up. I did enough research on flashpoints and vapor pressures to get me worried about the possibility of ending up with a blowtorch effect.

Liquor in the water tank could actually cause a significant fire risk.
