ANY Polls on masks

Post by Banshee » Tue May 16, 2006 6:52 pm

Hi ya,

I have been trying to find a poll or review on all masks & mask types. I can't seem to find any. I was just curious as to which masks are the most popular??

Greetings,

Here is sales data from cpap.com on what masks are the most popular:

https://www.cpap.com/cpap-user-preference.php

CPAPtalkers, who are more high end users, tend to favor the ComfortLite 2, Activa, Aura Headrest and Swift.

Keep asking questions and get the good stuff!

Johnny

Banshee,

BUT.....some of us "LOW END USERS" still do really, really well with full face masks.....

(I'm teasing you, Johnny....couldn't pass that one up)

Best wishes,

Greetings,

I omitted full face masks! My mistake. Typically users try full face masks when traditional nasal masks and nasal pillows systems haven't worked out. You can also see the most popular full face masks in the previously linked to consumer preferences report.

Thanks for keeping me honest Wulfman!

The CPAP link above will show you which masks are the most popular. I'm not sure whether my 15+ masks make me a high or low end user, but when I really want a good night's sleep, I wear my Comfort Classic.

Banshee,

As Johnny said earlier, the masks he listed ARE "popular". However, in my opinion, popularity doesn't necessarily mean the mask will work for YOU. I think it's important to make some self-determination as to what type of mask you THINK will work for your type of face and sleeping habits. Some masks work better for certain sleeping positions. Consider where the hose path will be when you're sleeping, tossing and turning, etc. Some masks work or don't work under different pressures, too. Full face masks (apparently) tend to leak more under higher pressures and some people have a little more tendency to be claustrophobic in full face masks. Mouth breathing and being suseptible to colds factors into the selection, too.

Are you having problems with the mask you have listed in your profile?
I happen to know someone who is using that same one on a REMstar Pro 2 at a pressure of 20. Yikes!

Good luck in your quest.
