If you chose to make that comment as a joke then you need to indicate that in your post with a smilly or a notation otherwise people can't "hear" the tone and take it as a serious comment. We have had plenty of spouses come on this board spouting of in all seriousness how their husband's use of a cpap machine "violates" them.
The ear plug topic was already killed off with her reply.

Earplugs was a fine suggestion, and no one hates you.

Ummm.... the 1st time I traveled with my mother after starting cpap, I packed her a pair of earplugs. She didn't need them.

1. My resmed 560 manual says to not use it with an extension cord. What about that?
2. I have put two folks in the same room for sales meetings I have run but never put two people in the same bed. That's about the strangest think I've ever heard! I'd love to hear what company you work for! As frugal as they are I'd want their stock!

Re: Traveling with CPAP
My machine is very quiet, and my snoring was very loud. So, my sister, who is usually my travel partner, is absolutely thrilled with me using my cpap machine. She used to yell at me during the night. If I was sleeping, she was awake. And if I was quiet enough for her to sleep, then *I* was awake. Now, we both sleep well.
Recently, I shared a hotel room with my mom, who uses the same machine now. I actually went over and waved my hand in front of her vent to make sure it was on. It was so quiet.
For traveling, I make sure I carry an extension cord and distilled water.
I have found that I need to sleep on one side of the bed so that I can keep my setup the same way as at home. I used to sleep on whichever side was in the center with the end table. So, now I look at the beds and pick which side is easiest to set up my machine the way I want.
I also keep my machine on something next to the bed. Higher than the floor, but not as high as the end table. Sometimes a chair. Usually a cat carrier (I travel with 2 cats). I put a towel on top of the carrier and then the machine so that it doesn't have any noise from vibrations.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?
