Where are the good sleep doctors?
Where are the good sleep doctors?
If you have ever had a good sleep doctor or recieved very good medical treatment at some special clinic for sleep apnea or sleep disorders then tell who it was and where it was at. I want to know where the good professional sleep doctors are at. Are they at specials schools or clinics? Do they even treat the public? I guess if your on this site you most likely had a crappy doctor that was there for the money. Any good doctors around Virginia. DC has all the govt elites but do those doctors treat the public?
Re: Where are the good sleep doctors?
I like going to the Stanford Sleep Disorders Clinic in Redwood City, CA. They are pioneers in the field of sleep medicine and were the first to discover many sleep disorders. In my opinion, they have the most technologically advanced diagnostic equipment. The sleep studies are very accurate, for example, I had 2 sleep studies done at 2 different accredited sleep disorders clinics in Southern California. I was misdiagnosed by both of them - they said I just had mild snoring. Frustrated, I did a 3rd test at STanford which properly diagnosed me with OSA - all hypopneas.

I'm in Virginia too--good luck. My best sleep doctor is named Loreena--who is myself. Oh, and my credentials are from the University of cpaptalk.com--number 1 in the world.

I'm a little ways down the road from Nashville. I've heard good things about Vanderbilt's Sleep Centers/Docs. My group came from there, though they are no longer with Vanderbilt. I go the Sleep Centers of Middle Tennessee. I receive excellent care. And my DME is WONDERFUL.

I have a very nice sleep doctor, Dr. William Sherrill at Presbyterian Sleep Medicine in Huntersville, NC. I especially appreciate all the help they have given me when I did not have money or insurance to buy my cpap equipment. They gave me a loaner machine until I could afford my own and they also gave me two brand new masks for free. The doctor has always seemed very knowledgeable and genuinely concerned about my health.

I'm in Northern Virginia and have a wonderful sleep doctor/pulmonologist. His name is Thomas LoRusso. He's wonderful.... very knowledgeable but also has great bedside manner and is cool with patients advocating for themselves.

I've found that the less I know, the better my doctors seem.
