Remstar Auto with C Flex internal clean after 16000 hours

Hi

I have clocked up over 16000 hours with my Remstar Auto with C Flex.
Does the unit need servicing in any way?
The reason for my question is that the motor and airway although protected by 2 filters would start to get dusty and may need cleaning.
Has anybody any experience of this?

After using this unit for 6 years you may be better off looking at a new one and keeping this for a back up.

I have 24,938 hrs on mine and it's going strong, but I did just put it into backup status. They're real workhorses.

Updating my machine was my other thought.
I have been looking at a Sleepstyle 254 auto which seems to get good reviews.
I cant make my mind up if the new machines are any better.
However I do have an old Remstar as backup and also a Puritan Bennett 420E which I use as a travel machine.

A new S9 AutoSet or Elite or PRS1 Pro or Auto will give you much better data collection than your old machine. Especially Airflow waveforms, which are "the real thing" if you have any problems.

Other than that, there's not much reason to replace your old machine if they're working well.

I'd avoid the Sleepstyle mostly because it doesn't do airflow waveforms.

You might watch your local Craigslist for a good machine at a good price. You may have to wait quite a while to see a good price, though.
