Hair growth and apnea

Post by CatherineF » Sat Jan 05, 2013 12:53 pm

Have you noticed slower hair growth, because of having problems with sleep apnea? My hair are so damaged and they grow terribly slow I am doing everything possible to improve this, but nothing helps.

Can we assume that this has only been since starting on CPAP? Are you breathing better? This sounds more like a nutritional problem than a breathing problem, or maybe genetic? Wish I had an answer for you.

If you sucessfully treat your sleep apnea, you will no longer have the effects of sleep apnea. No hair growth doesn't appear to be a symptom of having sleep apnea, but a lot of things can be made worse by it, dying a few hundreds of time nightly seems to be hard on our bodies. I hope sleep Apnea can't be blamed for gravity, as if they came up with a cure, we would all drift off into space. Jim

Take "T", you will have hair even where you don't want it. I do!

My hair returned to its uber thick density after treatment started.

Not Yet! Full body, I mow my eyebrows weekly. It seemed like the growth rate has been times 2, after the gel. That's one side effect I don't like about it, never cared for hair. when working I kept it mowed off. Growing old seems to make it grow in weird areas that wasn't a problem when young.

I went on Vitamin C for some tiny red dots (petechia) on my legs, and a surprising, pleasant side effect is that my hair seems more dense.

Dreading menopause for a variety of reasons, including this!

Hair and nails are directly related to general health.
I guess the "T" is that good for you.
(well, at least for the guys.)

Testosterone is terrible for women for hair (on the head)--it makes it fall out (just like it does for men).
