LUNGS

Post by tkay714 » Thu Dec 27, 2012 6:56 am

Does the CPAP make your lungs feel weird?
Ever since I've been on it my lungs feel funny.
Is this my imagination?

LOL, Thank you.

We all naturally tend to be shallow breathers. CPAP may be causing you to breath more deeply while you sleep. This may be what you're feeling. At the end of the day there's nothing to worry about... Its just air.

It is probably your chest and diaphragm muscles getting a work out for the first time in a long while. They have to exhale against pressure and like any muscle suddenly doing more work, they get stiff a sore. It will pass in a few days.

There is always the possibility that it's heart trouble or something worse.

However, your chest and stomach does have to adjust to breathing with CPAP.

This to may also pass! You also may have to buy bigger shirts, maybe not in my case it could have been having my chest opened up before xpap. Jim
