humidifiers
humidifiers
I've been on cpap for about 5 years now, and have been free of the problems with humidifiers for 4 of those. After feeling dry and stuffy with the humidifier, I tried just a passover, to baffle the noise from the machine. My stuffy dry feeling was much better without the humidity. Don't know why, but maybe we should all be trying humidity free air?
Re: humidifiers
I believe everyone should tinker with their humidity settings. One person needs max humidity, one does better with none.
Just keep in mind that your needs may change with the season, room temp and humidity, or your own health.

Re: humidifiers
Oh no....not me. I set it at 1 once...big mistake. Major nasal congestion along with a whole bunch of other ugly symptoms. Got the exact same response the 2 times I forgot to add water and tank went dry.herefishy2001 wrote:maybe we should all be trying humidity free air?
My nasal mucosa took 3 days each of those times to get back to normal.
Humidity needs are highly individual and what works for one person may not work for another person.
I need LOTS of added moisture...someone else might need minimal to none. This is one thing that each person has to do on their own and find what works best for them. There is no right or wrong here...just "whatever works".

I know you're right, just wondered if everyone just automatically assumes that they need humidity. I've always been plagued by feeling dry and achy with humidity. I know it's weird.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
