Length of Resmed Slimline Tube

Post by ekaren » Mon Dec 10, 2012 11:31 am

I have a 6 foot Resmed Slimline Tube (not the special heated kind). Are longer ones available? If not, is there some type of connector available to use 2 of them.

(The guy at my DME is useless and can't answer a simple question.)

No, the climateline and slimline tubes only come in that length as far as I'm aware. I asked my DME a few months ago and this is what they told me, plus I didn't find anything online regarding longer tubing.

cheers,
xena

You can buy a hose connector at cpap.com, look under hose section. Then you can connect 2 hoses.

Ekaren, get a short piece (say, 3/4" to 1") of 3/4"copper pipe, the kind the plumbers use for water. You can use it as a coupler, to join two lengths of the Slimline Tube.

Bear in mind that additional tubing length may slightly impact your therapy pressure (or so they say)
Naturally, they will not share any statistics with us.

For some strange reason the climate line hose is 6 inches longer than the standard slimline hose.

Actually, the regular hose is about a half foot shorter than the heated hose.

Two meter = 78.7402 inches. Most cpap hoses are 72" long. I have only found one light weight hose that is 2 meters long, besides what shipped with my Resmed S8.

Thank you everyone. I found where I can change from slimline to normal diameter--something that the guy at Apria was clueless about.

A regular hose might not be as light, but I would rather have it heavy and not accidentally pull a Resmed s9 off the night stand.

Consider yourself lucky that your Apria rep even knew there is a hose on the machine.
