My hose got me tangled

Post by Robbnva » Sat Dec 01, 2012 11:13 am

So I wake up to a loud noise last night, I see my cpap machine turned sideways. Turns out I kept turning over too many times and my hose was wrapped around me twice. It's the weirdest thing.

If your CPAP turned sideways you may have spilled water from the humidifier into the CPAP unit. ....that can spell disaster.
You need a way to hang the hose above your head. Use this or create your own system.

i purchased a hose buddy after my first few nights on the machine. The hose velcros to the stand so you wont be able to pull the machine. Cant imagine trying to sleep without it and it has a nice hook to store your mask. Blends in perfectly with my headboard, cant even see it when i fold it in.

Get the Hose Buddy, a similar contraption, or make your own hose hanger. I guarantee you will not regret it. I guarantee. You can have my next Twinkie if I'm wrong!!

You may be like me & need a longer hose. I use two 6-ft hoses, put together. I have done this for 12 years. You probably will also want to try the hose hanger along with the additional hose. Not every solution works for everyone, so mine may or may not work for you. You certainly don't want to pull your machine off the nightstand, that could cause you serious damage to the machine. Idea of putting the machine on the floor is a good one too. Hopefully some of these suggestions will work for you.

CPAP machines should come from the manufacturer with some easy way to secure them to the table so you can't pull them off easily.

Of course, they make money every time you pull the machine off the table and have to replace it, so they don't have a lot of incentive.

End tables are cheap, compared to our machines.
A functional item is only improved when you make it more functional.
Put screws in that oak top. secure a strap to it. Add Velcro.
Tie that bad boy down!
