Where to buy a CPAP machine

I am considering buying a ResMed S9 AutoSet machine and mask. I was wandering if anyone had any experiance buying from 1800CPAP.com? They seem to be cheaper than CPAP.com.

I can only speak of MY experience, but cpap.com is where I would buy the machine. They are nice, they will work with you and they won't rip you off.

If you are a newcomer, then you might keep in mind that insurances, nearly always, will not reimburse for equipment bought from internet sellers. Almost fifty percent of those who get machines, masks, do not follow through with treatment for very long. The goal of the insurance company is to force folks to use a Brick and Mortar DME with the thought the Brick and Mortar store, will provide assistance to the newcomers, like how to make a mask work. A variety of new masks for the first 30 days without extra charge.

Problem is, as is well documented here, some brick and mortar DME's do not much provide those services anyway. And insurance companies often seem to be looking for a way to stopped paying for treatment, rather than trying to push a DME to provide the services that newcomers often need.

Note: if you have any friends or relatives who work for companies whose insurance does not cover CPAP machines and supplies; PLEASE tell them about online prices. You could be saving a life.
WalMart and Sam's club have particularly grievous insurance, as do many other retailers.

My company is moving to a health savings account next year, with a high deductible. (I am not thrilled about this, as it ends up being a huge paycut for me.) I emailed them and asked about purchasing equipment online, such as nasal pillows, because the price is better. They said that it counts as an out of network provider and does count towards my deductible. I would not get the advantage of negotiated rates, but looking at my explanation of benefits, cpap.com is lower in price anyway.

So call your insurance company, it might be covered.

Nasal pillows from cpap.com generally run half the price of my insurance allowable; filters, one SIXTH!
Considering my ungodly deductible I shouldn't have gone to the DME at all after the year I got my first machine.
