Swift LT quick disconnects?

Post by cosmo » Wed Nov 21, 2012 5:47 pm

Anything I can buy for the Swift LT to make it a quick disconnect?

I have to take off the mask if I need to get out of bed for anything. I have to use a lot of force to remove the mask hose from the CPAP hose so its not convenient to always do so. Its also a pain to redo chinstrap each time.

The Swift FX looks like it has a similar hose design.

I have a Mirage Quattro Full Face Mask, it has a quick disconnect part I can yank out to go to the bathroom.

CPAP.com has these: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/hose-q ... nnect.html

I find it helps a lot if you figure out the "right" way to take the hose off.

Pull and pivot the hose as you take it off so that one side of the hose stays in one place and the other side starts to move towards the end of the connector. Once you break it loose, it gets easier.

This adapters intended use is to connect a humidifier and hose.

I just did a big order with them a few days ago but I didn't buy it because it said that I'll buy this next time, thanks.

I was also thinking about not shoving the mask hose all the way in the CPAP hose. Maybe 50% instead of 100%. Would this work or would it disconnect too easily?

I just take the mask off. once you get the straps adjusted you can slip in and out of it easy.

I switched to a new better hose and I could remove with little effort now. The free hose my insurance gave was junk. The rubber ends were not as flexible so that was disconnect problem.

A little glycerine on the connectors. Same with the hose to machine.

I just hold the mask end of the hose very firm and rotate slightly back and forth on the hose as I gently pull back on it. I just take the hose off to go to the bathroom if I need to. Once I got a good fit on my full face mask I'm not about to take it off and go through all that again of getting a good seal just to go to the bathroom.
