PAPillow .. My experiences

Post by Craig » Thu Nov 15, 2012 1:01 pm

Like many, I've tried numerous masks and or pillows until I found what I wanted.

I've used the Mini Edge PAPillow for about 7 years.
I'm currently on my second.
My problem is/was I have very oily skin and the case, and in time, the pillow became "oiled" and began to smell.
I did wash it, but I was never satisfied with the outcome.
Reviewing their site "www.papillow.com" I found they make a pillow that is fluid resistant and is mainly for places that need to disinfect a pillow after use, e.g. hospitals, sleep labs, nursing homes, etc..
It only took a single call to determine that they would make me a custom Mini edge PPillow covered with this Medical grade material AND do so for the same price as a non-custom product.

they are awesome!!

I sent an inquiry to them stating that their standard pillow was too high and firm for my tastes. Would they consider something with less stuffing?

They immediately offered to make me a custom pillow with approx. 1/3 less filling for no extra cost. Their only disclaimer was that I could not return it if I did not like it.

I now have the perfect pillow for me.

Thank you both for posting about the PAPillow.

I ordered the buckwheat Regenesis pillow last month and I've had a hard time adjusting to it from a lifetime of sleeping on down feather pillows. After reading your posts, I got curious about the PAPillow and looked it up. It's made from synthetic down feather materials!!! I'm seriously considering ordering one of these to try, maybe on the next payday.

Do you find them to be similar to actual down feather pillows as far as softness, and being able to snuggle your head down into the pillow? I can't sleep on foam pillows because there's no give or adjusting to be done to them.

I've never had a feather pillow, so I can't help in the comparison. My papillow is 2/3rd stuffed and pliable. I can shape it quite a bit.

Hope that helps

Dave

I may try the this pillow. Mine is a square D & is getting pretty old & worn out. I cannot find another, so looking at my options. Right now I'm sleeping with the square D, with 2 small pillows under my neck for support. They don't bother my mask, my main problem is neck support, which is hard to find in regular pillows. The pap pillow might be part of my solution.

Pliable is a good description, and I do want to be able to shape it. Those are the main things I was curious about - thank you!

I generally like a thicker pillow so I don't know if I should request less fill than they normally use. Hopefully I can still shape it if I order one with full fill.

Well, at least ONE Resmed Mask is priced not too horribly in Toronto.
