how do i import graphs from sleepyhead to the forum?

Post by johnthomasmacdonald » Thu Nov 15, 2012 3:41 pm

My overall ahi on the resmed series 9 vpap S was 10.95 - the breakdown was 0.68Hypopnea, 1.08 Apnea, 0.14 Obstructed and 9.05 clear airway ( which i'm guessing are central apneas)

Display the graph on the screen, use a screen capture program to take a picture of the screen, upload the picture to a photo hosting site (like photobucket.com), put the address of the picture between [image] and [/image] tags in your post (but use the 3 letters img not image. I used image in my sample so it would appear in this message).

PM Pugsy, she is good at explaining this in detail, she helped me.

My best try at instructions :
First you use the snip tool, save the image to your pc as a .jpg file.
Then go to photobucker.com then post there as a picture (after you sign up for an acct - its free).
Click on your image from the 'library' screen, at the bottom right you will see the 'img' click there & then paste that into the screen on this forum.

I probably left out some steps, you can try my steps if you want and if you have trouble, look to Pugsy, she is really good at this, she taught me what little I know about this.

given that my total ahi score was 10.95 - but 9 of it was central apneas - shouldn't i be dropping the pressure?

How to post images of reports thread.
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=81072&p=737779#p737779
Substitute whatever you do with a Mac to get screen shots...save as jpg file...upload to photo hosting site of your choice.

On the face of it...yes but your centrals may or may not be from the actual cpap pressure. So the centrals may or may not reduce but you can try it and see. It's a logical step to try. Just watch the OAs and Hyponeas to make sure they don't increase. With your recent AHI and low obstructive component...you have some wiggle room to see if reducing the pressure changes the number of centrals.

Dear Pugsy,

Last night i dropped the Inhalation pressure to 9 and the exhalation pressure to 4 and it seems that my apnea is almost All centrals now - my overall ahi score dropped to 7.08 but that was made up of Apnea = 0.00
Obstructive = 0.64
Hyppopnea = 0.64
Clear Airway ( centrals) = 5.79

it also seems that all the centrals come on in the last hour and half of sleep - same thing happened the night before - it seems my centrals go wild in the hour before i wake. No leaks except i pulled the fitlife mask totally off at like 2am and then put the swift on for the rest of the night. The VPAP is Soooooooooo comfortable that i have to check that it is on.

I have a feeling that to really get this under control i will need an ASV machine - I'm switching insurance to one that will pay for sleep tests after a $2500 deductible so hopefully i'll be able to get one in January

Did you ever get an overnight pulse ox to check to see if your oxygen levels drop during those ugly periods?

You need to pick a setting and stick with it for a while. Give the body a chance to get used to a setting and see what happens.

I've ordered one but it hasn't arrived yet - mail delivery is still all screwed up here in rural NJ - we get no mail for days and then a pile of it - also considering getting that zeo sleep analysis - while i find the vpap more comfortable, i'm still incredibly tired - i was nodding off while typing this

I borrowed a Zeo just to see how things would go. I didn't have it when I had the 17 centrals in 17 minutes...nor did I happen to have my Pulse ox on. My really weird happenings are rare so I just don't see the need to go wearing all that extra stuff every night to maybe catch an alien visit. Yours are more frequent so the additional information that the pulse ox or Zeo might offer might be of more benefit for you. I just can't justify the expense and mainly the inconvenience of the Zeo for maybe catching some information about something that might happen once every 6 months nor a drop in Oxygen that might happen randomly. For me, it leaves the question...what would I do differently than what I do now and I can't come up with anything different even if I spotted something so I have no burning need to see sleep data nightly from a Zeo. If I get 6 hours of sleep and feel like crap...I already know that is just something that happens when I don't get enough sleep. I don't need a Zeo score to tell me that I didn't get enough sleep.
The reports from the few nights I used the borrowed Zeo the sleep stages and times were pretty much what I would expect to see. Nothing exciting at all.

Your situation is different though...my ugly times are extremely rare and for the most part I feel decent each day.
I have notice that if I get at least 7 1/2 hours of decent sleep I am not particularly tired or drowsy the next day.
If I get less...I can tell the difference so in my situation I see a direct correlation between hours of sleep and how I feel.

Start with the pulse ox when it arrives and see if your oxygen even drops during those ugly times.
Then decide if you want the additional information that the Zeo might offer.

When I want to post an I use tinypic.com You don't need an account and it gives you 4 different codes. One for HTML for Websites, IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards, URL for E-Mail & IM and Direct Link for Layouts.
Getting my CPAP machine was the best thing ever. I call her my BFF.
