Nikken experience anyone?

More than 15 years ago ... My then wife to be ... Had tried to sell the Nikken stuff, she had just started prior to us meeting ... She thought (hoped) that it would help me sleep better (I had lots of trouble sleeping after being assaulted and knocked unconscious ... And sold them to me at her cost.

I got the shoe inserts, mattress pad, king pillow, seat and used them in my semi truck ... I did not like the seat thing at all and gave it back to her after a few weeks, just uncomfortable (but she loved it, and used it for more than 10 years!) the mattress pad (1.5" thick) was firm and the ridges or bumps felt course, I used that for about 3 months ... The pillow was too HARD, I only used that for a week! I liked the shoe inserts ... And wore them for wears till they were wore out!

I did not notice ANY health improvements at all.

I will also say that she had a friend that noticed tremendous results, and would have been miserable without them! Everybody's body reacts differently to different treatments ... My wife has taken to xpap treatment like a duck to water ... I on the other hand struggle to see ANY benefit from it yet (110 days) so far ...

Take the magnets out of her products and replace them with identical looking non-magnetic pieces without her knowledge and see if she feels any different.

Sadly it "was" my wife's friend, an older guy Vietnam Vet, that she was friendly with ... We thought he was a Father like figure, as my wife had lost her Father in the same war ... After we were married we flew him from CA to where we were living in VT ... I came home from work early on his last day of visit ... we found out he was jealous of me ... As he had just made a inappropriate suggestion just before I drove in! Fortunately my wife was FAR from interested in him in that way ... I have no idea if he is even still alive, nor do I care! That was 15 years ago ...

In my own investigation of magnectic therapy I decided that there might actually be evidence that certain magnets might actually help. So rather than take the word of a friend (how silly would that be) I went to MedPulse for NIH (National Institute of Health) studies.

"There were statistically significant reductions during the third and fourth months in burning (mean change for magnet treatment, -12%; for sham, -3%; P<.05, ANCOVA), numbness and tingling (magnet, -10%; sham, +1%; P<.05, ANCOVA), and exercise-induced foot pain (magnet, -12%; sham, -4%; P<.05, ANCOVA). For a subset of patients with baseline severe pain, statistically significant reductions occurred from baseline through the fourth month in numbness and tingling (magnet, -32%; sham, -14%; P<.01, ANOVA) and foot pain (magnet, -41%; sham, -21%; P<.01, ANOVA).
CONCLUSIONS:
Static magnetic fields can penetrate up to 20mm and appear to target the ectopic firing nociceptors in the epidermis and dermis. Analgesic benefits were achieved over time."
Seems that a majority of this population actually did get good results, but not all. Remember that nothing is 100% for everyone. We are all a little different.
As the study suggests Nikken magnets did improve pain, nerve function and circulation. It is a small study only 375 participants.
If it was my pain and it helped me then I would be excited. Those that it did not help could have been the amount of time the products were used or maybe they would have never helped.
Again it is ridicules not to have an open mind about different modalities. There is a lot of junk on the market. Look at medicine and how many have died from properly prescribed medicine. How many of us have bought medicine that did not do what was intended.
Again a company that has been around for 37 years and the products worked for me. I have a lot more studies including ones on sleep improvement which is what this group is for.
I do not want to get into a name calling situation or an argument. I am only about education. My 2 cents.

Actually - I am not a newly registered user and I also have experienced positive health benefits from using Nikken products. But it was very evident that many people (who had no experience with the product) were only interested in making jokes and and comments about the use of magnets.

There are a lot of things (drugs included) that "we" don't understand how they work just that they do.

What govt approved drugs are on the market (approved by the FDA) that we don't understand how they work?

I think when people can't back their beliefs up with cold hard facts they "diffuse" the real issue by saying "you can't prove EVERYTHING. It's a lame argument.

CF - I'm glad you're amused (I liked the videos!). I just get frustrated with people thinking they can just make up facts and drain others of their fortunes.
