Ahhh! A fair and accurate description of the "service" provided by Wright & Filipppis!!! They sure suck. I switched to another local provider, Sheldon Medical, and have been very happy w/them.

GoofProof, sorry to hear you need 02. I was just upped from 2L to 4L about 4 months ago.

One of the reasons I try to be somewhat friendly and engaging at the DME's is that
even if they are not making a lot of money off me, at least the front line employees
will look forward to seeing my cheerful puss.
It works everywhere--hubby and I have both used our charm to get stuff for less.

I went into Lincare to get my CPAP. She took my husband and me into the back room to explain it. She was the only one in the office and started taking phone calls on my appointment time. THEN she asked my husband to sit by the front door in case anyone came in while I wanted my husband with me while she explained the machine. I was told to come in with any questions between 8 and 12 only on Wednesdays otherwise they would have not time to listen to our questions. I have a lot of questions but its not Wednesday. What kind of a company is this??

I truly think it depends on the individuals working there. I have stumbled into a hot bed of stupidity at the Waxahachie, TX Lincare.

Ah, Posey, I hate to hear that. I've just about decided to go with them for my first equipment; not having a lot of luck finding area providers that take my insurance and aren't 30+ miles away. Guess I'll see how quickly the guy for my area calls me back, maybe I'll get one of the good ones (she says hopefully, with fingers crossed)... Image

I think it comes down to good and bad with every company. If we learn here as the people who use them to meet our therapy needs and the bad outweighs the good we should boot them when we can. On the other hand if you have a DME that is working good for you I would suggest hang on to them!!! I can't speak well of Lincare because during my desperate search for a DME they haven't returned my call since last week, NEXT! actually I found another that I believe will work out well, I won't be able to tell until I work with them for a bit. They received my prescription today and the RT is coming tomorrow, can't complain there! Central NY State

Pray that you never have to deal with their credit collection department. My secondary insurance company is behind on its payments to them and they're demanding (not asking) that I pay and then they will reimburse me. They have bombarded me with letters and calls. I have been treated as a deadbeat by rude and inconsiderate staff. I have explained the issue to them many times but they still treat me with contempt. I am looking for a new provider. I'm in Melbourne fl. Any suggestions.

I have had good service with them since I was first put on oxygen last January. They were at my home right when they said. When I got my first statement, I explained that there was no way I could afford that amount every month. So they approved a reduced payment. When I was dx with apnea and needed a CPAP they were the only DME in town and I didn't want to use Apria (Humana contract provider) I ordered from them. The only problem I have is they said they may no longer carry my preferred nasal pillows. Will see what happens when I tell them I will not change to the one they suggested.
Getting my CPAP machine was the best thing ever. I call her my BFF.

Good news When I talked to Lincare today I told them that I would not switch from the Swift FX mask to the GoLife mask if they no longer carried the Swift and that I would switch to another DME she immediately said that they WOULD continue to supply me with the Swift. Imazing what they will do if they think they will lose you.

Glad they are working with you! I hate when providers -- of any kind -- stop making or carrying something I use. Happens a lot when I find a favorite food or pair of pants...

I posted above on 11/13 that I'd see how long Lincare took to get back to me....they STILL never have called back. I've already moved on to another DME.

Beyond frustration

Re: Complaints about Lincare

I believe we need to do something about the disregard Lincare and other companies have for us whose very breathing depends upon their efficiency. NEVER bothering to return a phone call, providing faulty equipment... The list goes on. I, for one, am going to call Medicare to urge them to investigate and rate the quality of care these oxygen companies provide. If all they care is about the money, then let's hit them where it hurts. Then maybe they will be responsive or, if not, be forced to go out of business!
