Kathy, the advice about using teflon plumbers tape is really good advice. I have tried it & it works great.

The plumber's tape and the paper medical tape really give the same results and are just as easy to use. I found it easier to go to CVS, though, and buy the paper medical tape since it's walking distance from my house. I guess it all depends what's near by.

[quote="Anonymous"]The headgear on my swift moves too but I have solved my issue by using a string. I have tried both an shoelace and a piece of 1/4 inch elastic and think the elastic works a little better. Both of these were lying around the house so no $$$$ invested.

I loop the string over the lower arm of the swift near the pillow and back behind the lower part of the head to the other lower arm then tie it all in back like you tie your shoes. As you tie it you can pull the pillow tight under your nose. I loop one piece of the loop over my ears and the other under them under the lower part of the back of my head. I might lose a seal during the night but just have to pull the pillows away from my nose and let them ride back but I don't have to readjust the head gear even if it has moved all over the place.

My next endeavor might be to punch a hole into the headgear at the "swoosh" and have the string laced in so that all I would have to do would be to tighten and tie each night. But that sounds like too much work.

I also used paper first aid tape - don't like idea of breathing teflon

I took the mask apart and put tape on all the places where pieces were put together - the ends - the slots where the pillow barrel goes - the swivel by the hose - so far so good

Where the short hose connects to the Swift, on the left or right side of the barrel. That can leak sometimes although I have found if I just reseat it carefully that generally fixes it.

Doddie:

Yes the velcro strips will help keep it in place but, also try adjusting the the top straps so as to raise the back straps OFF and higher above your ears, then tighten and adjust the rear straps for a comfortable fit, but not too tight! Once you get it raised (higher) you can also cut some of the excess strap from the top straps leaving enough leway to adjust if still needed!

Hope this helps,

Steve,

Doris:

Let us know how you make out tonight! I think you will be much more comfortable with it when you get it off your ears and adjusted properly for you! Many of us had the same problem at first!

Best to you,

Steve,
