Why am I still SO exhausted and still waking in the middle?
Why am I still SO exhausted and still waking in the middle?
I realize I'm only 3+ weeks into this journey but I feel no better at all. My pcp and RT told me that since my apnea was mild to start with, I should notice a difference in about a week.

Could you please add your equipment to your profile?
There's more to feeling better than just slapping a mask on for a week. Often it takes much longer and it doesn't matter if the OSA is mild or severe.
Hopefully you have a machine that collects data so we can see if your therapy is optimal.
You might have leaks that are impacting your therapy and preventing feeling better.
Tell us what you are using and we can let you know if software is available so that you can check your data and see if something needs improvement.

This is a "long haul" therapy. If you can wrap your mind around a one year progress report, while making changes along the way just like any major lifestyle diet.
Pugsy can really help you with interpreting data here, along with others. Its my experience they know more than sleepdocs, MOST of whom dont have apnea. Its most helpful to have both sleep data and oximetry. Most sleepdocs look just at AHI averages, but there can be other significant events and desaturations that are crucial that you have to catch.
Other things such as sleep position (which can cause leaks), your mask choice, and dont forget reflux of various types can severely impact your success. Others have elevated beds and special pillows. You have to find what works consistently for you.
Be willing to explore other things if your sleep data is good over a longer period such as fibromyalgia (which has been shown to correlate to sleep disturbances), weight, allergies, anxiety/panic disorders, serotonin, digestion, caffeine, etc. You need to be a detective and keep a journal, and you also need help. Plus, when you come here the advice is free and its darn good.
