Hi everyone.
I'm shopping online for hoses. I have a 6' one and I think a longer one would be better.
The hose I got from the doctor is kind of hard to manipulate so I've been using one that my husband had, and it's easier to wrangle. I don't know what brand it is, but it's gray and not see-through.
Do you have any suggestions?
Quick update on how I'm doing and would love some feedback: I'm about 3 months into this CPAP thing. I'm mostly "compliant" and I'm trying to keep it on all night. My data shows it is working as far as keeping my airway open, not many leaks. I don't mind the nasal pillows and I'm able to go to sleep. I wake up every time I try to roll to my side, I'm wondering about getting a special pillow. But dang.... I'm TIRED! The FNP tells me because my issue is upper airway, it can take up to a year to start to feel better. That seems like forever. I'm exhausted and foggy and going to work every morning seems nearly impossible. But I keep putting that thing on every night. Anyone else who has upper airway issues that saw results, and how long did it take?
What is best long hose that is bendy?

Hi Marlo,
I have good success with the 8 ft hose from our forum sponsor https://www.cpap.com/productpage/8-foot ... -ends.html. It seems like it has good flexibility, is 'bendy', and it gives me the extra length that I need. If you have 6 ft hoses and want to use them first before buying a 8 ft hose, what you could try to get more hose length is to get a small extension hose to add onto the end of your 6 ft hose to make it a little longer. Here's a 24" hose that I use to make the 6 ft hoses from my DME 8 ft (they wont send me 8 ft hoses...<sigh>) https://www.cpap.com/productpage/24-inc ... -ends.html and the connector I use to join the two hoses together to make a 8ft hose https://www.cpap.com/productpage/univer ... ector.html.
I can't help with ideas on the upper airway issue, but someone else here will surely be able to share their experiences and thoughts on that.
Good luck to you in your therapy!
John

I use the Sleep Weaver Feather weight tube between my full face mask and my 6 foot climate line. It makes a good short tube to use on any mask that doesn't come with a tube. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/circad ... -tube.html

I like the white Performance hose that Respironics normally supplies with their machines.
It's a bit lighter and more flexible than the gray hose.
Did your doctor supply the machine also? Hose being supplied totally separately? I can't imagine that you would be complaining about the Performance hose.
This is what I use with my PR S1.
