Software for PR BiPap Auto sv Advanced?

Post by merhaba12 » Tue Jul 31, 2012 12:48 pm

My friend has a PR BiPap Auto sv Advanced and is wondering what software she could get to download data from her SD card.

Can anyone help? Thank you!

SleepyHead works with some of those models but there have been a couple of failures. Hurts nothing to try it. Information in my signature line lower left of my post here.
For those people that SH doesn't work I suggest EncoreBasic. Check your private messages for additional information.

Which BiPAP Auto SV Advanced is it?

Is it a Respironics REMStar BiPAP AutoSV Advanced, which based on the Legacy RemStars?

Or is it a PR System One REMstar BiPAP Auto SV Advanced, which part of the System One line of machines?

If it looks like a Legacy, Encore Viewer 2.0 should work. So will Encore Basic and Encore Pro. She will need the card reader for the machine. I'm not sure if the caed reader for the M-Series works for the card in this machine or not. Perhaps a call to cpaptalk.com might clear that question up.

It it is a System One, then SleepyHead should work, although there have been some reports of it not working with the R System One REMstar BiPAP Auto SV Advanced. Encore Viewer 2.0, Encore Basic, and Encore Pro should all work with this machine. This one uses a standard SD card to store the data, and any generic SD card reader will do the trick if the computer doesn't have a built in SD slot.

Encore Viewer 2.0 will NOT work with the the PR S1 line of ASV machines. Respironics came out with Encore Pro 2.5 to accommodate these ASV machines when they released them last year. EncoreViewer2.0 predates Pro 2.5 and is not compatible with the new PR S1 line of ASV machines. It is of course compatible with the Legacy model series.
So in the Pro line...either Pro 2.5 or 2.8 (released not long ago for the 60 series machines) for the PR S1 ASV lines as the older Pro versions won't work. I heard that there is another Pro version out or coming out shortly to accommodate the newly released 60 series BiPaps. I would assume it would also work as most of the time the software is backwards compatible. At some point the newer Pro software versions aren't going to be compatible with the Smart card machines though. It may be with the most recent Pro version which I have not seen yet...only heard about.
EncoreBasic would be the easiest choice for the PR S1 ASV machines should SleepyHead not want to play nice since it also would work with the Legacy series machines and is much less of a PITA than Pro in any version is.

Given the past history of Respironics development of ASV machines I don't see having a heated hose in those models anytime soon.

Sleepyhead only recognizes the machine's serial number from my PR BiPAP AutoSV Advanced.

Is EncoreBasic available for sale to the general public?

EncoreBasic will work. Windows based though...no Mac version. Look in UncleBob's signature area for information on where to get EB. Install it and read the Help section as it does a good job telling how to manage the software.

Here's an example of what your reports will look like.

Pugsy,

Thanks, I just downloaded and installed Encore Basic.

Waiting for SD card from Respiratory Care company.

Does anyone know what size card will work, I have some cards of my own.

Doesn't have to be a huge SD card. 1 GB is more than enough but they are hard to find...everything is bigger now.
Larger sizes will work just fine though. Some machines don't like the new fancy SD High Def cards is about the only limitation.
Pick one that you have and erase it if there is anything on it and stick it in the machine...the machine will tell you real quick if it likes the SD card or not. No need to do any special formatting of the SD card for Respironics machines that I have ever heard of. I bought a 2 GB Sandisk card at Walmart and just stuck it in the machine and the machine did the rest. You can watch the screen on the machine...it will let you know if there is a problem.
Your machine stores a good bit of data on its internal memory. Try one of your cards in the machine and then try the software to see what you can see. No need to wait till you sleep tonight.
