I've previously posted that I only use distilled water because when I tried tap water, it left a dusty, mineral stench in my nostrils when I woke up. It was the same smell I got when I had used tap water in an ultrasonic humidifier (which also created a white dust from the nebulized minerals in the water). I now have to say that your mileage will vary depending on you local water supply. Last week I had to make an overnight trip to Ft. Myers, FL, and didn't have the time, or desire to buy a gallon of distilled water. I used the tap water in the hotel for that one night, and didn't notice any difference over the distilled water I use in Los Angeles.
BTW, just got back from Smart and Final, where I bought two 2.5 gallon bottles of Sparkletts distilled water for $2.04 each. I had been getting the 1 gallon bottles for $.99 each (up 10 cents over last year), but they were out. They have the lowest prices I've seen around here.

After reading these posts I think I am goofing When I got my CPAP the DME told me to use "bottled water". So I do. However it is the water you buy by the case in Walmart. I recently bought 2 one-liter bottles at Dollar General for 65 cents each but it says Natural Spring Water. Is this the same as distilled?
Getting my CPAP machine was the best thing ever. I call her my BFF.

No.
It has to say "DIstilled"
Otherwise, minerals in the water that may make it taste good will crud up your tank.
