I just upgraded from an Resmed S8 Autoset to an S9 Autoset with climate control. Seems like a nice machine and I'm getting OK results after use this weekend. One annoying thing that came up is a wheeze from the machine when I exhale. It only occurs when I finish ramping and I'm near my 95% pressure. Everything is new, but I've use the swift fx mask for a couple of years. The wheeze seems to be coming from the machine. Not sure if it's the cpap or the humidifier. The DME people were very nice an gave me the cleanable water bowl version. My guess would be a leak in a gasket somewhere, but I've been unable to find it. Also the wheeze occurs with epr on or off.
Has anyone else run into this? Should I return the unit? I'd be interested in your thoughts.
Thanks,
Mke

I've had mine for 6 weeks and I notice it too, it's mostly during and just following my 5 minute ramp. I find it disappears as soon as my breathing settles down to resting / sleeping rates and depths.

It seems to be a common problem with S9's.

I use a white noise machine. It eliminates all noises and I was able to get use to it's noise instantly. It helps with hide my tinnitus. It's a small unit and I am able to take it with me.

Sounds like a defective machine. I had the same problem with my Respironics Series 60.
I returned it to cpap.com and they inspected it, confirmed it was defective and after 2 weeks sent me replacement under warranty.
Luckily i has my S9 to use as a backup. My S9 is almost silent and i never hear any wheezing or bird like sound that some people are reporting.
I would recommend getting your DME to check it over. Your S9 should not be making more noise than your S8.
