Would like a CMS-50F or CMS-50I oximeter

Post by kaiasgram » Mon Sep 17, 2012 12:44 pm

I tried a clamp-on-the-finger oximeter but it causes pain enough that I can't keep it on for very long so I'm looking to try either the 50F or 50I which has the main unit on your wrist and just the light weight probe on your finger. It's not something I want to make a long-term hobby of, but at 3+ months since starting PAP I want to see if my therapy is keeping my O2 at a healthy level. Does anyone have either of these oximeter models that they would like to sell -- or possibly rent to me for a couple of weeks? I'd like to have some data before I see my new sleep doc in mid-October. If no one has one I'll get one from pulseox store online but just hoping to conserve $$$.

Feel free to pm me. Thanks.

Ask your DME if they have a rental Sp02 adpater for your resmed. It tapes on so its even lighter than the clip on wrist things. You can buy the setup but the list price is about $1000 or so.

I asked my Dr to order me a pulse ox all night one night. The DME had me come down and pick up the unit.It was a finger unit attached to a box about 3 inches by 4 inches, that had a cord so I could clip to my pj's or the bed linens. It did not record into my S9, but into the unit itself. I brought the unit back to the DME the next day. The DME downloaded the info and sent a report back to my PCP a few days later. He discussed it with me and gave me a copy. My PCP ordered it, I didn't have to get the order from my sleep Dr. My insurance paid 80% for it, and I paid about $20.00 for the co-pay on the test.

Thanks for responding -tim and codinqueen. I don't have a DME to speak of, I buy all my cpap stuff online. I have Kaiser and I do plan to ask the sleep doc next month if they will send me home with the oximeter that plugs into the S9 (they have them and use them for titration), but this is a super high volume clinic and I'm very doubtful that they'll release any equipment to me. I was originally hoping to get hold of one and actually have some data when I go to that appt. I appreciate you guys tossing some ideas out. It does give me the idea that if I could even get my primary to write a Rx for an oximeter I might be able to go to Apria and rent one -- I'll check it out. Thanks again.

I'm still trying to figure out my CMS50E oximeter and I'm bent that it doesn't work with SleepHead so I have only used it like two nights so far. I can't even remember how to turn it on to recording mode. I think another member helped me with a guide which I printed out and have laying around somewhere.

Anyhow, I guess my point is I wouldn't recommend the model I ended up getting.

Thanks Chris. I'll bookmark those and have a look. I know the manual that came with it confused the hell out of me.

hello,

rather orient you on a device type Nonin PalmSAT 2550.
It allows recording and editing a report on compliance oxygen saturation and pulse rate.

More convenient to use a night oximeter pulse.

And especially less expensive than RESLINK resmed.
