Using a ResMed S9 Elite, and looking at the Sleepyhead chart below the calendar using the DETAILS tab.
It shows numbers: Date Sleep Wake and Hours (then below that section is AHI, etc. Above it is the calendar.)
I know what the Date is, but what do the other three numbers indicate, esp. since I would assume that Sleep+Wake should equal 24, and Hours would indicate how many Hours (and minutes) I used the CPAP that night. But that total would be >24.
Can someone explain these numbers for me? Sometimes my Sleep is >23...and I'm not sleeping that much. Pretty sure the CPAP machine isn't either.
Thanks.
Sleep, Wake, Hours....Please Explain
Re: Sleep, Wake, Hours....Please Explain
Sleep is the time you went to bed and turned the machine on.
Wake is the time you woke up and turned the machine off.
Hours is the time with the machine on.
Example: Sleep 11:00 PM....turned machine on at 11 PM
Wake 6:00 AM....turned the machine off at 6 AM
Hours.....7:00 hours with the machine on and hopefully asleep most of that time.
Assuming no periods where the machine was turned off during the night.
If you happened to get up in the middle of the night for some reason SleepyHead with the machine off then the Hours will reflect that and down at the very bottom past all the numbers there will be multiple session times.
SleepyHead will combine the sessions.
Example in the above...if someone was up for 60 minutes during the night the hours would show 6 hrs instead of 7.
Wake is the time you woke up and turned the machine off.

Re: Sleep, Wake, Hours....Please Explain
Pugsy-
Thanks for a response. Here are my numbers from a recent night:
Sleep 23:16 (11:16 p.m.)
Wake 4:10
Hours 2:56
As it happens on this night, my sessions were
23:16 - 00:15 (thanks to the dog)
1:49 - 02:45
02:13 - 02:37 (wasn't that included in the session above?)
03:10 - 04:10
which gives the total of 2:56 (if I were to do the math).
Am I understanding what you wrote correctly? Even though I had the CPAP on between 11:16 p.m. and roughly 6:45 a.m. (minus dog and bathroom breaks)?
Thanks again for any enlightenment. I lived with a "brick" for five years, so this access to data is both fascinating and confusing.

Re: Sleep, Wake, Hours....Please Explain
Gotta get out my calculator. There is a reason I went with simple numbers.
Without the bathroom breaks or dog breaks....sleep at 23:16 and wake at 4:10 would give us roughly 4 hours and 54 minutes of sleep (machine on time).
But we have to subtract the time with machine off so that is how you end up with less hours then one would initially think.
Obviously much simpler to see and figure when there is only one sleep session.
