Which Zeo should I get?
Which Zeo should I get?
I am thinking about getting a zeo. I see some on Ebay but it looks like there are many different models. Is there one I should get or better yet, is there one I should stay away from? I wear a full face mask with headgear on top of head, so I can't imagine having to wear something else on my forehead. Any recommendations?? I see cpap.com has one that is 150.00 but there are ones available on ebay much cheaper.

Re: Which Zeo should I get?
There are three kinds - two of which require an app on your smartphone and one which requires a bedside unit. I prefer the Sleep Manager Pro because it uses bluetooth to send the signal from the headband to the phone app and then the phone app automatically loads the data to the zeo website for tracking via 3G or wifi. The Bedside unit requires a smart card which you have to load to your PC to get it to the Zeo website.
One advantage the bedside unit has is there is a hack you can do to get access to the raw sleep wave data. You can't do that with the two versions which require a phone app. That may or may not be important to you. There is a user on the forum named MaxDarkside who does some really cool stuff with the raw data. Makes me jealous a bit.
I would have to assume that the phone app version is the future direction of the product. It is easy to update the app as they continue to tweak the algorhythms, etc. The bedside unit could likely be updated, but it would be trickier for your average user.
All of them do basically the same thing so it just depends on how you plan on using it. If you plan on using the tools on the Zeo website, it might be better to go w/ the one which uses the phone app and syncs automatically.
Of course if you don't have a smart phone then you will have to go w/ the bedside unit.

Re: Which Zeo should I get?
I would like to know if the replacement headband/contacts can be bought anywhere at a discount?
I understand they need replacement at 90 days, +/- at about $20 a pop.

Re: Which Zeo should I get?
I watch Amazon for them from time to time, but the price there is almost always the same as at Zeo's site, so I buy them at Zeo because I know Zeo will get a bigger bit o cash.chunkyfrog wrote:I would like to know if the replacement headband/contacts can be bought anywhere at a discount?
I'm finding mine last about 60 days, your mileage will vary. I wear mine EVERY night. I buy 3 at a time at $49... $16.33 a pop.I understand they need repalcement at 90 days, +/- at about $20 a pop.

Just started, so I can't really say for sure, but I think I would go with the zeo sleep pro + as the firm ware can be upgraded.
It is a little buggy with my phone, and am working out the kinks. But all and all, ok.
that's my 2 cents

Re: Which Zeo should I get?
sorry, I should add the pro+ does Rem sleep and deep sleep, I'm not sure if the others due. My understanding was that it had more features.
Re: Which Zeo should I get?
I have the Zeo Personal Sleep Coach which is the bedside unit. It works really good and I was able to pick it up on E-Bay for $30.
Re: Which Zeo should I get?
From reading their website the pro+ is the same exact device as the pro, but has a 2 year warranty instead of a 1 year, and also comes with a charging dock. For $30 difference, it is likely worth it.
The bedside one is pretty spiffy, but I think that I would get more out of it by having it sync with the app on my phone directly. But I also wear a Quattro Mirage so I'm not really sure that I could use one of these at all - my forehead is already pretty much covered.

Re: Which Zeo should I get?
I can't remember. Did the bedside unit come with more than one set (Can't locate my materials atm..) I think I'm about at the over 30 day + mark. How can one determine exactly when the sensors/contacts are bad?MaxDarkside wrote:I watch Amazon for them from time to time, but the price there is almost always the same as at Zeo's site, so I buy them at Zeo because I know Zeo will get a bigger bit o cash.chunkyfrog wrote:I would like to know if the replacement headband/contacts can be bought anywhere at a discount?
