Indeed. Its sickening that that "medical" business has become a money grubbing corrupt system. This is why they make doctors take the H oath. The well being of patients comes FIRST, not MONEY. Id call the chamber of commerce, and BBB too. Also, any major clients they have such as nursing homes. Make copies of a short, precise explanation. I doubt major companies would want to do business with them after hearing this. And it will put a serious scare into the CEO of that DME too.

Report them for exactly what? For not being a charity? For not being a government agency legally required to provide a service? For not being an insurance company? They are none of those things. They are basically a store. A store that the OP originally thought he could afford to shop at with the help of his insurance company and then found that he could not. IF he has any complaint it is with the insurance company.

I have a co-worker who wanted the Bella loops, and her DME (AHP-MHR) made her get an entire
Swift FX setup AND pay $25 for the Bella (I don't even know if she got all 3 sizes of pillows--I doubt it.
I know 2 other people who use them and only get one pair of pillows with the mask

I also believe that specific data of how bad you are helps to make you more determined to make treatment work. Seeing the graphs with the positions and sleep stages along with the breathing, events, and oxygen levels really help to make it a reality.
The Itamar Watch Pat I was tested with at home has a print out and yes, it did make it a reality. You are given your results to view in a group class. You don't have to share them with anyone else. One graph shows arousals. Everyone else had some blue lines indicating arousals with lots of white space (no arousals) in between. I had almost a solid blue line with a very few, thin streaks of white. Same with 02 sats. Some people had a few dips below 88%. I hung out way below 88% all night. Home testing still gives plenty of info.

Some people have more than just OSA and will need more testing, but for the majority of people this type of testing and home titration works about as well as most in lab programs. Most importantly, it gets people to treatment faster and easier. Economically, it makes sense to identify and treat people for OSA because they are less likely to develop problems as a result of untreated OSA. Since Kaiser is both the insurer and the care provider, they make a real effort to do so. And, as I've said before, if I had to do in lab testing and titration, I would still be untreated today--I'm not one to put up with something like that unless you hit me in the head with a mallet first!

Depending on local or state regulations,
OP may be able to get insurance to cover purchase elsewhere at the same rate.
--An exception to 'in network' rules, due to inability or unwillingness to fill prescription as written by doctor.
